Rice is a popular beauty ingredient in ancient Asian cultures. Now it’s time to let you onto the secret of that wrinkle-free skin!
It brightens and clarifies skin so that your face is left soft and smooth!
You can use cooked rice that is blended to a mushy paste instead of rice flour. But I find rice flour to be an excellent face mask ingredient since it needs no cooking and has exfoliating action too!
What you need
- 2 TBSP rice flour (where to get it)
- 1 TSP raw honey (where to get it)
- 2 TBSP milk
- Mixing bowl, spoon and applicator brush set (where to get it)
Directions
- In a bowl, add rice flour, raw honey then add the milk while mixing to form a spreadable paste. Add more or less milk as you need to create a face mask consistency.
- Apply using an applicator brush. Avoid the eye and mouth area.
- Keep on for 7-10 minutes.
- Rinse off using warm water first, then cold water.
- Pat dry and follow the rest of your skin care routine (toner, serum, moisturizer, sunscreen, etc) as usual. I like using this Japanese skin care set afterwards – it focuses on making your skin attain that glassy porcelain look!

No matter the components of your DIY face masks, you should always do a patch test because we all have unique skin that reacts differently to different ingredients.
To do a patch test, simply apply a small amount of your DIY face mask of choice behind your ear.
Rinse off after 15 minutes and wait for about ½ to 1 hour to see if there’s any reaction. By reaction, I mean redness, itchiness or any type of irritation.
Some people even wait for up to 24 hours to see if their skin can handle any type of product.
