What Makes this Smoothie Detoxifying for Your Liver
💗 Beetroot
Beets contain active compounds such as betanin, betalains and betacyanin that help support liver detoxification and improves bile flow.
A liver which contains toxins and harmful wastes spills these same wastes into bile. This turns the bile very sluggish and this stale bile lingers in the liver, further burdening it.
Drinking beetroot juice helps in pushing slow-moving bile filled with toxins away the liver to be eliminated.

Recipe: Liver Detox Smoothie with Beets
Ingredients
- 1 beetroot
- 1 red apple
- ½ cup frozen blue berries
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups baby spinach
- 1 frozen ripe banana
- 8-10 fresh mint leaves
- Ice cubes
Directions
- Begin by washing all your fresh produce, if not already washed.
- Next, peel the beetroot and chop it up together with the apple.
- Into a high speed blender, add the chopped beetroot and apple plus the frozen blueberries, frozen banana, baby spinach and mint leaves.
- Blend till smooth (add 1 cup of water along the way to get everything well blended and lump-free).
- Serve in a tall glass or mason jar with ice cubes!
