Treat yourself to this lovely DIY rose clay face mask and watch your skin become clearer with a beautiful glow!
If you haven’t heard of rose clay, then I’m here to tell you it is absolutely wonderful for all skin types. This is because it doesn’t strip the skin of its natural oils.
Below are some of the benefits of rose clay:
Ingredients in this Rose Clay Mask & their Benefits:
💗 Rose Clay
Rose clay is a type of mild kaolin clay which is naturally occurring. It is called rose clay because it has a lovely pink color that is used to make natural pink soaps, bath bombs and DIY makeup products.
Rose clay has kalinite as its major component. Kaolinite is a clay mineral that can only be produced when specific weather conditions have worn down minerals containing aluminium silicate. It has several benefits including:
- Drawing up impurities from deep within the pores
- Not stripping the skin’s natural oil content like other clays
- Gently exfoliating dead cells off the surface of the skin
- Unclogging blocked pores hence getting rid of blackheads, whiteheads and acne
- Replenishes skin with its high content of beneficial nutrients such as silica, iron and other minerals
- Makes skin taut and firm which prevent signs of premature aging such as sagging skin and fine lines
💗 Aloe vera gel
Aloe vera gel is soothing and cooling when used on your skin. It has several benefits including:
- Provides antioxidant protection by limiting the effect of free radicals on the skin which can lead to wrinkles and damaged skin
- Contains salicylic acid that has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties for acne-free skin
- Helps lock moisture into skin cells, making skin appear supple and hydrated
💗 Rose water
The purpose of rose water in this rose clay face mask is to activate the rose clay. Rose water is a great option for this, as opposed to normal water. That’s because of its many benefits as we shall see below:
- Maintains the skin’s pH balance which helps fight off acne and other skin issues
- It is a mild astringent which tightens pores and gently tones the skin
- Hydrates the skin to make it soft and plump
- Has powerful antioxidants that help offer free radical protection
- Its Vitamin C content helps boost collagen which regenerates skin cells and improve cell turnover.
