Peppermint is a popular herb used in the medicinal world to soothe a wide array of ailments. It is used in tea form to treat sore throat, diarrhea, irritated tummies, irritable bowel syndrome, and more.
It is rich in a substance known as menthol, that gives it a cooling sensation when drank or applied.
I believe hair rinses are one of the best kept secrets to growing longer hair!
My favorite hair rinse by far is rosemary hair rinse. It helps grow your hair like a weed! But another hair rinse that does the same trick is a peppermint tea hair rinse!
Below, I share some of the benefits of peppermint tea rinse for hair growth and other benefits your hair will love.
Benefits of Peppermint Tea Rinse for Hair Growth & More
Rinsing your hair with peppermint tea has several benefits! Some of them include:
- Stimulates blood circulation on the scalp – This ensures each and every hair follicle receives nutrient-rich blood to help it function optimally.
- Solves dandruff issues – Dandruff can make your hair fall. Peppermint has anti-dandruff properties. Had of peppermint shampoo anyone? It has antifungal uses that help keep those white flakes away.
- Makes hair glossy – Pouring peppermint tea over your hair during a shower results in your hair looking glossy and silky! Try it!
- Combats an oily scalp – If you suffer from greasy locks, a peppermint hair rinse can help because this herb has astringent properties that helps remove excess oils.
- Detoxes the scalp – If your scalp feels icky and clogged, peppermint tea can help detoxify it and clear out gunk in your hair follicles
- Soothes scalp irritation – An inflamed irritated scalp can easily be healed by regularly using a peppermint tea hair rinse, rich in soothing menthol
- Refreshes your scalp – An overheated scalp, which causes pimples and scabs that block hair growth, can be cooled down by pouring peppermint tea on it
- Strengthens hair follicles & strands – Using peppermint tea hair rinses helps fortify weak hair follicles, making them stronger to hold strong strands of hair that won’t break easily
