This DIY anti-aging aloe vera face wash contains the star ingredient: aloe vera. Aloe vera is a great anti-aging ingredient. It is known to boost the skin’s moisture content leaving it hydrated as well as tight and firm.
Aloe vera is also a super soothing agent for the skin, which is great for those with sensitive skin types. Its high nutrient content rejuvenates skin and also removes impurities.
Below let’s check out more benefits of aloe vera gel and the other ingredients we shall be using in this DIY anti-aging aloe vera face wash.
Ingredients in this DIY Anti-Aging Aloe Vera Face Wash
💚 Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera gel protects and repairs skin from the harmful effects of UV rays and sun damage, which is one of the main causes or premature aging.
Another way aloe vera gel promotes anti-aging is by stimulating fibroblasts in the skin which produces collagen and elastin fibers that increase the skin’s elasticity and suppleness.
The healing properties of aloe vera help minimize the appearance of blemishes and dark spots. Aloe vera also contains amino acids that help soften rough and leathery skin making it softer and smoother.
It also contains zinc which makes it a natural astringent that tightens large pores and gives skin a firm feel and look.
💚 Liquid Castile Soap
A natural cleansing ingredient, liquid castile soap is basically what makes this DIY product a face wash.
It provides a lather that helps remove excess oils and dirt from the skin.
💚 Rose Water
Rose water is necessary to activate the castile soap and help it cleanse skin without being too drying.
This heavenly scented floral water also contains antioxidants that helps in the regeneration of skin cells and offers protection from pro-aging free radicals.
Rosewater also has astringent properties that balance oil production on the skin and help reduce excess oiliness.
Last but not least, it soothes and refreshes skin!
Note: Distilled water or any other hydrosol or floral water can be used in place of rose water.
💚 Jojoba Oil
What makes jojoba oil a special skin care oil is that it mimics the skin’s own natural oils.
It also protects skin from sun damage and the signs of premature aging such as fine lines and wrinkles.
Jojoba oil has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce skin redness, irritation, itching and inflammatory skin conditions like eczema and rosacea.
💚 Frankincense Essential Oil
Known to be one of the best anti-aging essential oils, frankincense essential oil helps reduce/prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
Its cytophylactic properties stimulate skin cell regeneration and protects older cells from oxidation and free radical damage.
Frankincense also has astringent properties that keep skin firm and taut.
It is good for softening fine lines and deep wrinkles when used consistently.
Frankincense also minimizes the appearance of facial scars, age spots, blemishes and dark marks.
💚 Geranium Essential Oil
A flowery scented essential oil, geranium balances the skin’s sebum which is perfect for those with overly dry or overly oily skin.
It also has antioxidants in it that protect skin from free radicals that are known to accelerate premature aging.
Geranium essential oil softens rough textured mature skin, making it appear younger.
💚 Tea Tree Essential Oil
Tea tree essential oil contains anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.
This means it helps fight acne, eczema, rosacea and other skin conditions caused by irritants and microbes.
Tea tree also has skin tightening properties that help minimize the look of large pores while firming skin.
💚 Vitamin E Oil
Also known as the beauty vitamin, Vitamin E oil is the another ingredient used in this DIY anti-aging aloe vera face wash.
It is filled with antioxidants that have photoprotective properties. This means it protects the skin from free radicals in UV rays and solar radiation that cause skin damage and deterioration.
Vitamin E is also incredibly moisturizing for soft supple and nourished skin!
