2. DIY Hair Strengthening Mask with Yogurt, Aloe Vera & Coconut Oil
All you need is Greek yogurt, aloe vera gel and coconut oil – and you’re set for a DIY hair strengthening mask.
You need this treatment if your hair is weak, brittle and keeps shedding like crazy.
Coconut oil works by helping prevent protein loss from your hair strands.
When applied before washing your hair, it coats the hair cuticles, stopping water from entering and filling up the hair cortex.
When the hair cortex absorbs water and swells, it causes the hair cuticles which are made up of scales that face downwards from the root end of the hair to the tip, to push outward instead, making hair prone to easy breakage, damage and hair shedding.
Applying coconut oil to your hair before you wash it, aka, a hair mask, prevents water from being absorbed into the hair shaft and becoming easily prone to breakage.
Aloe vera gel acts as a humectant, which means it draws moisture into the hair, keeping it hydrated. Aloe is also good for soothing the scalp and making it a good environment for healthy hair growth.

3. DIY Deep Conditioning Hair Mask
For hair that’s rougher than straw you can try this amazing DIY deep conditioning hair mask! It is good for reversing hair damage from heat and coloring.
We shall be using avocado, mayonnaise, coconut oil, honey and an assortment of hair helping essential oils!
Avocado is a great source of biotin. This buttery fruit will moisturize, repair, and strengthen your hair. Minerals, fatty acids and vitamins found in avocado can help seal hair cuticle cells, which can prevent hair strands from easily breaking.
Mayonnaise contains two main ingredients: egg and vegetable oil. The high amount of protein in eggs helps strengthen and thicken hair follicles. Vegetable oil (canola or otherwise) increases hair softness, hydration & strength.
Coconut oil coats the hair strands, protecting them from protein loss. Protein loss happens when water enters hair strands making them swell up and causing the hair cuticle to misshapen, resulting in rough and frizzy hair.
Honey contains both emollient and humectant properties! Emollients smooth the hair follicles, adding shine to dull hair. Humectants bond with water molecules, adding moisture to dry strands.
Rosemary essential oil not only improves both hair thickness and hair growth but also helps strengthen hair strands and acts a fresh herbal scent to this hair mask
Peppermint essential oil is invigorating, making your scalp tingle which invigorates hair follicles to produce new hairs. It also helps hydrate and condition hair.
