The only Halloween mask you need this fall is this DIY pumpkin face mask! It contains the star ingredient: pumpkin powder! Yum!
A DIY pumpkin face mask is a cute activity for Halloween, a cozy fall day with your little one/friends or if you just want to have a spa session at home.
It’s super easy to whip up because it contains pumpkin powder.
Pumpkin powder is made by washing, cutting, dehydrating and grinding ripe pumpkins to a fine powder. When mixed with water, it can be rehydrated to replace canned or fresh pumpkin puree.
It also lasts longer than fresh pumpkin so I love using pumpkin powder in any food/DIY beauty recipe!
Let’s take a look at some of the benefits of pumpkin for skin below:
Benefits of Pumpkin for your Skin
What vegetable can you eat in just about any food and put on your skin as well? Yup, it’s pumpkin!
Here are some of the nutrients found in this fall favorite:
- Beta carotene – Pumpkins get their beautiful orange/yellow color from their beta carotene content. Beta carotene is converted into Vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A is known to brighten skin and minimize dark marks, spots and acne scars. Beta carotene helps keep skin youthful, wrinkle-free & protected from UV damage.
- Vitamin C – Another amazing ingredient in pumpkins is Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that aids in collagen synthesis.
- Vitamin E – Also known as the beauty vitamin, Vitamin E in pumpkin helps soften up and moisturize the skin.
- Zinc – For those with acne, zinc in pumpkin helps fight as well as prevent those angry red pimples while also defending the skin from harmful UV rays that can cause acne scarring & hyperpigmentation.
Pumpkin powder has tiny granules that help provide gentle exfoliation so that’s an added bonus!
Use this DIY face mask as a scrub by softly massaging it on your skin while rinsing it off for some exfoliating action.
