Shea butter penetrates easily into the skin, which makes it a great emollient.

💛 Beeswax
Beeswax is used in this DIY anti-aging hand cream to give it a firmer texture. So instead of a liquidy cream, you get a nice thick cream.

DIY Anti-Aging Cream for Dry Hands
Ingredients
- ¼ cup extra virgin coconut oil (where to get it)
- ¼ cup wheat germ oil (where to get it)
- ¼ cup sunflower seed oil (where to get it)
- 3 tablespoons beeswax pastilles (where to get it)
- 1 tablespoon shea butter (where to get it)
- 15 drops of frankincense essential oil (where to get it)
- 15 drops of helichrysum essential oil (where to get it)
- ¼ teaspoon Saliguard PCG preservative *optional (where to get it)
- Air tight amber glass jar (where to get it)
Directions
- Create a double boiler by combining coconut oil, beeswax and shea butter in a heat safe Pyrex dish or glass bowl. Place the glass bowl onto a pot containing a few inches of water. The water from the bowl should not touch the glass bowl.
- Heat the pot over a medium low heat until all the contents of the glass bowl melt completely.
- When it has melted, add the sunflower seed oil and wheat germ oil.
- Let it cool until it isn’t very hot, then carefully add the essential oils, drop by drop.
- Add ¼ teaspoon of the preservative, if using and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into an amber glass jar with a tight-fitting lid.
- Let it cool completely. You can keep it in the fridge to harden into a cream like texture.
- Your DIY anti-aging hand cream is ready!
- After washing your hands, scoop a suitable amount of the hand cream and rub into your hands. You can do this before drying your hands to seal the moisture into the skin.
