Avocado lovers will know how buttery and delicious this creamy fruit is. But it’s not just great for health – it’s also a skin superfood.
It’s perfect for nourishing your skin, soothing inflammation and plumping dry skin with much-needed moisture.
Before we go to the 3 DIY avocado face masks, let’s check out some awesome benefits of avocado for skin!
Benefits of Avocado for Skin
1. Heals dry skin
Perhaps the number one benefit of avocado for skin is that it is ultra-moisturizing and healing for dry skin. This is because it contains omega 3 & 6 fatty acids that provide the skin with deep moisturization and lubrication.
2. Soothes inflammation
Avocado is anti-inflammatory, thanks to its omega 3 fatty acid content. This makes it soothing for inflammatory skin conditions like acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and more.
3. Promotes youthful skin
The nutrients in avocado including Vitamin A and E, make it a powerful antioxidant that deflects pro-aging free radicals.
Dry skin is also a major contributor to early fine lines and wrinkles. By keeping skin moisturized, avocado promotes young looking skin!
4. Makes skin glow
Because of how creamy and moisturizing it is, avocado locks water and fatty acids into skin cells, giving skin an appearance of being extra smooth soft and supple.
Simply put, avocado face masks will make your skin glow!
5. Calms sensitive skin
Slathering avocado puree on your face can help minimize skin inflammation, redness and sensitivity.
If your skin feels hot, itchy and painful, make an avocado face mask. It is sure to rescue your skin!
3 DIY Avocado Face Masks
For the best results, I recommend blending the ripe avocado till lump-free in a Nutribullet. This way, the avocado is fully broken down and its job of delivering nutrients and pumping skin with hydration is much easier!
Using mashed avocado can be very messy plus it won’t really work like smooth blended avocado puree.
