Ingredients in this DIY Orange Sugar Scrub & their Benefits
Made up of key ingredients: sugar, coconut oil and sweet essential oil, let’s check out what makes this DIY orange scrub perfect for your skin:
🧡 Sweet Orange Essential Oil
It smells so orangey and perfect for this DIY orange sugar scrub – but that’s not all, sweet orange essential oil also has alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that dissolves and exfoliates dead cells.
Orange oil is also great for boosting collagen production which helps make skin supple, smooth and firm.
Don’t forget it’s antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that keep microbes and acne-causing bacteria away.
🧡 Fine White Sugar
In this sugar scrub, sugar is the ingredient that makes the scrub, well, a SCRUB.
The tiny granules of fine white sugar have a mild abrasive texture that exfoliates skin, revealing softer, brighter skin underneath.
Sugar also has moisturizing properties that keeps your skin from drying out.
It helps remove gunk stuck deep within skin pores.
🧡 Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
Due to the high amount of saturated fats, coconut oil is deeply nourishing and moisturizing to the skin.
It also controls comedo (blackheads and whiteheads) formation by exfoliating skin cells and purging out stale oils from within the pores.
The lauric acid in coconut oil acts as an antibacterial agent.
Coconut oil keeps your skin smooth and soft!
🧡 Orange Zest
This ingredient contains Vitamin C and citric acid that boosts collagen production, prevents premature aging of skin and helps get rid of cellulite.
It helps exfoliate skin with its slight rough texture.
Orange zest also makes your sugar scrub smell and look good!
