Ingredients in this Rose Sugar Scrub & their Benefits
🌹 Fresh organic rose petals
This is the key ingredient. You will need fresh rose petals from an organic rose flower. Here are some of the beauty benefits of rose petals:
- They have antibacterial compounds that help treat acne.
- Crushed rose petals have a gentle exfoliating texture that help remove dead cells from the skin
They have astringent properties that reduce excess oily skin - Being a rich source of Vitamin C, rose petals boost the elasticity and suppleness of your skin
- Rose petals have powerful antioxidants that block UV rays and free radicals which are known for causing sun damage and premature aging
- The anti-inflammatory properties help reduce inflammation and redness on your skin.
- Rose petals add a healthy rosy glow to your skin
🌹 Coconut oil
Coconut oil helps bind the sugar scrub together. This creamy white oil also has a myriad of benefits for your skin:
- It has antibacterial properties because of its lauric acid content which helps fight off acne causing bacteria
- It controls comedo (white heads and black heads) formation by dissolving and exfoliating dry dead skin cells and other gunk in pores
- It easily penetrates into the skin, leaving it moisturized and soft
- It keeps skin wrinkle free due to its moisturizing properties
🌹Almond oil
Almond oil is more liquidy than coconut oil, which helps it bring all the ingredients together to form a well combined sugar scrub. It also has the following skin benefits:
The Vitamin E content in almond oil rejuvenates the skin and protects it from pro-aging free radicals
- It softens and moisturizes the skin
- It is good for those with sensitive skin types because it is less likely to cause allergic reactions
- It sinks deep into the skin without leaving a heavy oiliness on the skin surface
🌹Sugar
You may use any sugar of your choice: white or brown. However, it’s best to use fine grain sugar, as these have smaller particles that will not be harsh and scratch up your skin.
Sugar is exfoliating with these abrasive texture. It helps slough off dead cells from the skin which reveals new soft and bright skin. It also has moisturizing properties especially when mixed with the rest of the ingredients, which keeps skin hydrated and plump.
🌹Rose Otto essential oil
This ingredient is what makes the sugar scrub even more lush and luxurious. It smells absolutely breath taking and you’ll feel like you’re doing something incredibly fancy and loving to your skin!
Rose otto essential oil doesn’t just smell like heaven, it has all the beauty benefits of rose petals mentioned above, multiplied by a hundred fold, since it is a very concentrated extract of roses.
